My 347 did the same thing on a Mustang Dyno. I need a custom tune but I want to rule out any mechanical problems first. It runs rich and I get terrible gas mileage.

a/f: ~12.7 @ 3100 12.1 @5000

I had a dyno tune /chip burnt in june .I had it done at www.performancedyno.com in concond N.H. I got the 4 Pin SCT Superchip. The car runs much better now then before and it stays cool w/ them being able to kick the fan on earlyer. The chip and tune session was a fate rate of $400 and IMO was worth it b/c now I have the peice of mind that when I go to the track I dont have to worry about anything failing as far as a tune issue.

I believe he was looking for chip advice, not combo suggestions.

That's b/c of your heads and throttle body. The 347 requires too much airflow for those parts. Get a 70mm t/b and some AFR heads and intake. You'll pick up a ton of power and it won't fall on it's face. I may be wrong, but I don't think a chip is gonna help it flow any more air up top. The t/b alone should make a difference. I think your cam is too big for that intake also. Like the other guy said Edelbrock RPM 2.

Just looked back on your combo. Go to 24lb injectors. 30s too big.

welli dont want him wasting money on a 400 dollar chip when he can put that money towards a combo that can really wake up the 347. the combo that he has now has ****ty airflow.

i think 30s will do fine just as long as he has enough airflow. right now he needs 24s because his aairflow is crap, but when he steps up to the upgrades that i talked about 30s will be right on target.

I mostly want the chip to help with the A/F. The heads and intake should be capable of making300-325 horspower. I agree the throttle body may be small but Driveability is nice.I'm happy with power now but I was expecting more in the low 300's. I'm having my dyno graph scanned and I will post. The very first run the car put out 275 HP 331 TRQ but it was nice and cool.

Those injectors are too much. You need 24s. If nothing else, do the injectors.

are you kidding me...injectors too much? lol

Im running 30 lb Ford Racing injectors on my 306 and they are at a 90% duty cycle...if I get the car making anymore power it will need BIGGER injectors.Right now its at 334rwhp and 322rwtq through a nonlockup AOD. His 347 should be capable of well over 350rwhp with the right setup.

I personally say screw messing with chips and go straight for the Anderson Ford PMS. Why spend money on getting the chip reburnt when you change your engine combo. I know the PMS is more expensive at first but it will probably save you money in the end.

Also...what size fuel pump are you running?

I'm not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure 24s would gain him some power. You're making a whole lot more power than him. If you can get low 300s out of it, which I'm not saying you can't, then I'd keep the 30s. Have you tried to lower the fuel pressure?

We went as low as 32lb and it lost power down low and was lean at top end.

I have 42lb. inj. and 190 pump for 6psi and stock long block. way more than what i need but plenty of room to grow. the car runs great. my tuner said that the pump and injectors will be good for 400hp to the wheels on his dyno. He also said it is far safer to reduce the duty cycle of a large inj. than to push a smaller one over 80% duty cycle.

I always thought 347's made ALOT more horsepower - low 300's isn't all that much for a 347 - at least i thought - i've seen 302's with the right H/C/I combo get about 300 horsepower. I dont know if Im wrong or not, but somethings def wrong. My friend has a 347 stroker and it is so fast It's scary. He has the E 303 cam, edlebrock heads, and the polished cobra upper and lower, along w/ no airconditioning, and I think MSD ignition - naturally aspirated, I know that it's well over 300 horsepower, he hasn't had it tuned or on a dyno yet.

Something is seriously not right. If my E7 headed Factory Stock motor laid down 287hp/348tq then your combo isn't optimized.
As was mentioned earlier, try an AFM tuner, (http://www.andersonfordmotorsport.com/catalog/AndersonCat040105_Page_54.jpg) provided you're running mass air.
