Dyno #'s

JUst got back from the dyno...I have a question for you guys....when you guys when on did they have you do it in 4th gear becuase the ratio is 1to1.
Also how do you put images on here without them begin attachments thx

I went to a dyno day today with some friends and one of them had a 03 Mach and he got 288RWHP & 309 FT-LBS Torque but they are STD numbers so it should be ( SAE ) 276.48 RWHP & 296.64 FT-LBS Torque so they are about the same.

For your question : Yes all dyno pulls are dome in 4th gears and if you want to put pics on here without been a attachement ,you have to find a place to host them , just go here and you'll be fine . Mine use to be on image station.com but they don't do any remote linking anymore so all you'll see will be a nice rex X .

There is 2 dyno numbers SAE( most common used ) cause they are corrected so that means you Dyno your car here or in California at 3000 FT altitude you'll get the same numbers , STD will show a bit more horse power & torque ( that's what we like to see ) but it's not what most shop use , I was surprise today that Mr.Hyland gave us STD numbers and when we asked him he said that he forgot to switch to SAE and cause most of the cars were done that way so far he kept the STD for the rest of the Day. Your numbers are STD I'm 99% sure ! I've been told that the difference between STD & SAE are about 4% average so you take SAE X 4% minus and you'll get pretty close to SAE numbers !

When I went to the dyno, the guy did it in 3rd gear ..

he first ask me what gear I had and then he said he would do it in 3rg gear

I still dont understand how he came up with that !

Thx for the help guys...I got a flowmaster catback system and underdrive pullies i still have to get on..I think i should get about 287-289hp with those but i am really happy with 275hp

yeah..you make the run in the gear thats closest to 1-1...dynoing in third wouldnt make sense..what did you put down for numbers?

Everything was stoc kon the car.

193 rwhp
290 lb/torque

since I've had LT Header, Prochamber, Dynomax muffler, underdrive pulley, densecharger kit, delete smog pump, new spark wire change from 15" to 16" wheel

Since i've had the exhaust system car seem to be more stronger at 2500 rpm and over !

I love it !
