I broken those on my dad's truck and on my mustang. At first I just used lengths of brass tubing picked up at a local hobby shop, slid the broken ends into it and superglued it. I now figured out its much easier and probably better just to get some small rubber tubing from an auto parts store.

I broke the vacuum control hose (hard plastic) also. I did like Parchisi proposed and spliced it with a piece of short rubber vac line. You can also buy lengths of the hard vac line at the better parts stores.

Yep, been there done that. Used a short piece of rubber hose and stuck both ends of the hard line into it.

You should be able to get a piece of vac line that is pretty hard to slide onto the old plastic vac line. This should provide a leak-proof seal.
