Does anyone where I can find a good rebuilt engine in the North Florida area for sale or someone that can build one for a 1987 Mustand GT? I'm looking for 300 to 350 hp.

You can get a rebuilt engine from most major auto parts store, Jasper, powetrain pros just to name a few. Some even have free shipping. You just swap your stuff over, valve covers, oil pan timing cover that kind of stuff.

You will likely spend more to have a shop disassemble, machine and reassemble just the short block plus parts, then you have the heads and other stuff that grows the bottom line.

Express Engines in DeLand, FL. Famous for outboard racing engines, but they do car stuff on the side. Their machine shop is as clean as a Dentist's office. Not saying it's going to be cheap. If you just want a cheap short block, all the autp parts stores sell one.

Seems fresh 302 short blocks for a decent price are getting harder to come by. LMR used to sell one for $1200 a few years ago. No more, but lots of machine shops are rebuilding them and selling them on ebay. Like this one.

They have a number listed so you could give them a call.

You'll want a top end kit to reach your HP goal.
This one would do it:

If you haven't already you'll need to convert to Mass Air.

About the same price as the parts store without a warranty. Just saying.

They offer a 12 month/ 12000 mile warranty, and will add custom parts if the customer wishes.

Advance Auto does have this:

I've used these guys with good results. Good thing is they will bolt on whatever parts you want so long as you send it to them. They are s mall local shop but ship all over the country and know their stuff.

It's more about the hassle of having to deal with a rebuilder in another state, vs dropping off your broken engine at a local store. Advance used to sell just the short block for around $1200. Can't find it right now.

I've worked with Panhandle Performance in Lynn Haven Florida. They've done two engines for me. As far as I'm concerned they are the best. Mark Bidle is the owner and knows more about engines than anybody I've ever met. They are online but mostly list the higher end stuff. They can do exactly what you are describing because they did it for me. They are close to you than to me but for me it was worth driving there just to meet them. They can do the whole thing over the phone and ship the engine to you if you want....at least that was an option when I did it.

Sent that directly but had no luck so here it is.
