I've done it, the car is way much quieter than before at tick over
I have installed the CC inserts from Car Chemistry (3 disks)

I packed them with some stainless steel wool (between the disks).
I got myself some special exhaust gasket sealant, ok I've spent almost the entire afternoon doing it but the result is AMAZING.

The car is still loud when you put your foot down but tick over it's quiet, you can still hear it's a V8

spec:
342, MAC headers, MAC H pipe, Super Turbo mufflers, MAC turn downs after the axle.

Before the inserts:

After the inserts:

note: the fan is now louder than the engine (almost)....

Yes, it is quieter, but I like it better when it's louder.

Either way, it's always nice to see a "three pedal car".

Sounds just like my 302 with Thrush Turbos... (the 'AFTER')
Before it sounded just like my 302 with FMs...

I could still hear the birds chirping over the before sounds.
Personally I like the before better.
I also wonder if you have slowed the car any.

I would have put sound deadener in personally. Anything that restricts exhaust flow is not my friend.

This is my daily driver and my day starts at 5:45AM
I have to keep it quiet, and I don't think the exhaust flow has been restricted that much, maybe a little.

believe me, there's enough power to smoke anything on the road over here
