For those of you who think you can ditch your smog gear and get away with it, here is a heads up warning...

http://dailysignal.com/2014/08/01/f...rPUfGjI4ASsBlI+SLDwEYGJlv6SgFQrLBMa1ozrgOWxU=

Homeland Security agents raided a North Carolina couple’s property and seized their $60,000 Land Rover Defender, claiming it violated EPA emissions standards. Jennifer Brinkley said the agents didn’t give her a chance to defend her rights to keep the car before hauling it away. She and her husband have 35 days to appeal the alleged violation, but the government won’t reveal the car’s location.

LOL.... I think that there's probably more going on than just an emissions violation.

That vehicle has ties to something far bigger. Homeland Security isn't coming to your house because you have no catalytic converters or a vin discrepancy. Anything related to a vehicle would be related to DMV, maybe Dept of Transportation, not Homeland Security.

I agree. This is either a get even tactic for something they got away with, or it's the Al Copone tactic.

definitely something more going on here, they probably imported the vehicle illegally which would cause the feds to seize the vehicle. otherwise the beset they could do is fine them something like $25,000.
