I'm fiberglassing some tweeter pods for my doors(92 gt) and had a question. I've got the first layer done and it turned out almost perfect in the shape I wanted it. However when I tried to put on another layer with fiberglass sheets before it messed the shape all up. One layer isn't hard enough though and bends too much. Can I just brush on some resin/hardner to the exisiting piece that i have and it will help harden it up or do I have to put down more fiberglass sheets?

You'll have to add more fiberglass mat/cloth. Just brushing resin on the piece will not add any strength at all. The strength of the part comes from the material you apply resin to.

Can you add any material to the back of your project? You could build up the strength this way and preserve the clean lines of the front you've said you liked.

Hope this helps

That you can do....or try somthing they call "kitty hair". it's like bondo and fiberglass in one. easy to use. that will build up strength and smooth it out at the same time. Or...if you wanted to....use some t-shirt in place of the fiberglass mat/cloth.it's thiner and easyer to work with in your case.
