Ok, I am approaching what I think is the time to start up my project 70 351c. I have some final electrical conncetions to figure out and I think Im done with the engine. Escpet for the belts. My question is, do I have to belt up the A/C idler and power steering if Im not using them right away?? I would do P/S but I think I have to have the A/C brackets mounted to get that on and dont have any A/C stuff. except the brackets... Thanks...

There's really no reason to have the power steering and AC belted just to start it in your garage (assuming you don't mean to drive it, of course). Just make sure you've got the water pump and alternator installed and belted properly and that the AC and PS is well out of the way.

the only thing you need to drive it is the waterpump and alternator, providing you have big arms

Thanks, Any other first start tips I could use?? Someone recommended a separate fuel filter and The resto book I have has this bit where you just stick a hose in the radiator and open the drain so its constantly fresh water... Any tips/stories would be appreciated...

Thanks again,
CJ
