First V6 Performance Package I've come across on a dealer lot

I went to go order one this past week and they said it would take 6-10 weeks before I would get it. I'm going to hold off because I'm not going to drive the car in the winter. Its going to be a long winter knowing I'm going to get one in the spring. I can't wait..........

my concern is that they'll drill holes in the bumper and have extra crap i dont want, thus, will have to pay for.

Not how I want it. This will be the first new car I buy and I want it how I want it. Base options with the performance package.

i like the 18" gray ten spoke wheels better than the 19" wheels. i wish they weren't an additional cost option.

well i guess that solves that problem lol

I am also a GT owner,and it seem"s kinda funny to me also,Mustang owners scream at Ford to build the large V8 engines so they can look good with the competition from GM and Mopar,then in 2011 they get there wish,every one get"s very excited,but then it happens 98% go out and buy 6 bangers,with less power than the 2010 GT, that they were yelling at Ford that it was under powered and couldn"t keep pace with GM and Mopar.How long will Ford keep building top of the line go fast Mustangs when most buy the 6 Bangers and then try and MOD them up to V8s,just my thoughts also.

I personally never screamed at Ford for anything.

I had a 2001 GT. I modded it slightly with a tune, 4.10s and a catback and that was plenty good for me. I had a 7 mile commute to work. I never needed or even wanted more power. I believe that car had 260HP. With the mods, I got somewhere in the area of 16mpg combined. I traded the Mustang in for a Lincoln Aviator several years ago thinking that I wanted a SUV. That was a huge mistake but that's not the point of this thread so I digress. I've been trying to get back into a Mustang ever since.

My commute for work is now 90-120 miles per day. I am currently driving my wife's old 4-banger sedan due to fuel economy. It's time for me to get a new car. When I saw the 2010 Mustang, I instantly fell in love all over again. There wasn't much I could do though because I wouldn't drive a V6 (it's missing 2 cylinders!) and couldn't afford to commute with the V8 every day. Then the 2011 V6 dropped and it solved all of my problems. I could have a car with both the performance that I wanted (more than my previous GT) and fuel economy that I can live with for my commute.

Of course I'd love to have a V8 but it's just not possible in the near future between the cost of the commute plus the fact that I have two 16 year old sons so the insurance would kill me. No offense to anyone driving a V6 prior to 2011 but I think what Ford did was make a FANTASTIC V8 and at the same time made the V6 relevant to a group of people that would have never even considered it before.
