I've heard it's very quiet unless you have a O/R midpipe.

I am running it with no other exhaust mods. Sounds good. Not too much louder, but growls much better now. A bit of drone but not much. Only at certain rpms...Mainly up hill around 1500rpm

ok noob question - what is the difference between the h and x-pipes? also why off-road? just because you get rid of the cats?

X is going to be higher pitched and raspier. People usually pair it up with straight through muffler designs (slp etc). H makes the tone way deeper and gives you more low-end torque usually. People usually pair these up with chambered mufflers.

yes its called off-road because it replaces the stock cats with straight pipes and most people say that H pipes sound better with the Flowmasters

i only have sound clips of my old setup, the bassani catted x with flows, stock manifolds. i can tell you they sound much better with the LTs. i have 1 5/8" headers though. dont go with jba they are crap. go with american racing long tubes. i can see about recording a clip for you.

I've had the Flowmaster Axelbacks on for over a year... the sound definitely has to mature, as they sound better and better over time. In fact, most of the compliments I've been getting have changed from how cool the car looks to how good it sounds (of course there weren't as many on the road when I bought mine two years ago). The mufflers do drone below 2000 RPM, but much less with a tune - just that little bit of extra horsepower makes the difference. Good luck with yours, I think you'll be pleased.

flomaster

I got mine for free from another fourm member and i cant remember his name to thank him again. To me they are really loud but iam 52. They really rumble. They sound great paired with my granatelli intake that really makes the car come alive.
