Went from Austin, TX to New Braunfels 150 miles round trip (Cruise Control On, Automatic Transmission), slight hilly country, morning time around 85 degrees:
30.8 MPG at 63mph - No A/C with one stop
27.8 MPG at 63mph - With A/C with one stop

I was a very surprised. I know I average 18.4 City, 25 Hwy with moderate traffic (some stop and go at lights). But just cruising 75 miles each way with the cruise control set, I was all the way back home until I went to fill up at the gas station ($2.46) and went from to in a nano second.

What are your MPGs?

I WISH I could gas up my car for under $3/gallon. Try living in any major city in CA, then complain about gas prices.

I get 29 mpg on a freeway trip.

We have the highest prices in the nation!!!!

I could drive my SUV (4X4) that gets about 9 MPG...

Great in snow though...

Rural Kentucky, gas just went to $2.999 for regular. It's $3.21 for premium.

Man, you guys get a lot better gas mileage than I do. About 16mpg city and 20-21 mpg highway.

Live elsewhere in the world that doesnt produce oil like we do and you'll see high gas prices...

30.8 MPG? That's unreal!! If you could get that kind of MPG without drafting behind an 18 wheeler, that's great!
The best MPG I've gotten so far is 21.5 MPG (combined city/hwy) and the worst is 18.4.
I haven't gone on a long road trip yet, so I haven't been able to get a good estimate on the hwy MPG.
But from the short hwy trips that I've done, I noticed the MPG indicator indicate 24+ MPG.
Hopefully, it will improve as the car gains more miles.
I guess its still, sort of, going through the break-in since it has almost 1900 miles. I hoping I can get the same miles as yours. Good job!!

OR live elsewhere in the world that does produce oil, and pay like 5 cents per gallon...ie IRAQ

Think having windows down or tops down or anything will affect MPG? I don't know if thats enough difference in aerodynamics or anything. (Air going into windows instead of smoothly around the car or into the car from the top instead of over like in a coupe.) Just wondering.

That's the government subsidized price, same as in Venezuela. It certainly costs more than a nickel a gallon to pump, refine, distribute and sell a gallon of gas.

Since my performance tune the #s have dropped a little. 13 city and 21 hwy. It was 15-16 city and 23-24 hwy. Maybe I just can't keep my foot out of it!

True that. We don't get much snow here in LA - never, but there are 7000 ft+ mountains close that get plenty of snow in the winter.

I get about 12-13 mpg around town in my stang, and I'm really glad I moved 3 miles from work. My motorcycle gets 40+ mpg on the freeway and I can lanesplit and use the carpool lane, so I don't complain much about gas prices.

I paid $2.46 yesterday. Tonight when I drove by the gas station it went up .30 cents to $2.77. Holy cow batman, $3.00 is coming!

That is so bizarre...I just drove from Austin to New Braunfels and back, tonight! LOL! Although, I didn't reset my computer to see what the mpg was for that ride. I drove 80-85 most of the trip and cruised at 75 on the way back. I wish I'd have reset it. I'm averaging 19.7 commuting from South to North Austin on IH35, daily.

One question - how the heck could you stand to drive with no A/C? It was at least 100 today! I came back late tonight and it was still hot!

I went down in the morning when it was still in the mid to upper 80's with the windows down. The key was I had the cruise control set at 63mph and drove in the slow lane. I know I peesed a few people off, but I just wanted to see what my ultimate mileage is. Coming home it was high 90's thus the a/c went on. Going 85 will kill your mpgs, but it is much more fun to drive that fast. It is supposed to be over $4.00 per gallon later today, so 55 mph is sounding better all the time. I bet I could get 33 mpg if I set her on cruise at that speed. Of course, the semi's would run over me and that would not be a good thing

Well, you inspired me. I filled up today at $2.77 (a bargain) and drove home with the cruise at 70. My mpg was 26.8...I don't think I've ever gotten it that high! LOL!

Congrats GTJade. I know, I was surprised as well. 26.8 sounds just right for 70 with the A/C on. Not bad for a 300hp V8
