For those that had awesome results from Zaino, what did you use?

I got the kit and I'm simply looking at the number of other stuff you used.

How many cotton towels, which brand, did you use microfiber towels, etc. Just a quick run down on what I need.

And I've got a similar question regarding my paint if you guys don't mind reading.

I noticed a problem on my car. Near the hood, is seems like there is a spot where the paint is flaked off, or peeling. It's hard to desribe but there isn't bare metal in that spot so I know the paint isn't coming off but it's still looks funny. The spot is green, the same color as my paint so I don't know what it is. Anyone know what I'm getting at? If not, I'll snap a pic this weekend a post it.

On Zaino's website they give you guidelines on how to pick the right towels, and they should have everything else you need too. I think it's in the tips and tricks section of their site.

As far as your paint, it could be the clear coat peeling. My car has that same problem in a few places.

Oh, I forget I mentioned that I read that part, but it seemed too nitpicky. He recommends those huge bath 100% cotton towels. And there not exactly cheap either. Just wondering if it's absolutely neccesary.

I've have some Absorber rags laying around here as well. Can I use those or stick with the expenisive towels?

Regarding the clear coat peeling, is this alright? I mean, does it need to be professionally repaired or is to safe to put Zaino on it?

Since you're in Tampa, you oughta swing by to our Mustang club cruise in we got going on next saturday. We usually have at least 20 cars or so up there and I'm sure you'd enjoy it!

As far as the detailing towels, I got a few of the Meguiars Gold Class detailing towels, got em for a few bucks at Autozone here about a week ago. They're smaller and Meguiar's stuff is generally high quality, so you might want to look for those.

As far as the clearcoat peeling goes, I wouldn't put the Zaino on that because there is a possible of the chips getting embedded in your towel and scratching your car.

To apply the polish i use high quality 100% cotton applicator pads. To remove it, I use microfiber. gets the job done real well.

Stupid question coming up as well. When removing a layer of polish or something with a cloth, do you immediatly wash the cloth off afterwards, then dry it until you have to take off the next coat? I have never really fully detailed my car before, so I want to make sure I'm doing everything okay.

Clear coat failure=new paint or clear coat no way around it sorry.

Always use fresh towels (microfiber works the best imo) when removing products, you don't have to wash them right away but they need to be clean before touching your paint the next time they're ready to be used.

Ah ****...

What would be the cheapest route? Clearcoat or new coat of paint?

Find a reputable body shop and ask what they can do. More then likely they will recommend to do the panel over (sand, repaint, clear coat) but you never know until you ask.....

Second question about the clear coat. I have get the entire thing stripped, then re-applied? Even though the only source of peeling is about the size of a quarter?

And there is no possible way I can Zaino with this stuff present correct?

Unfortunately, like Wytstang said, you'd pry have to take the car to a body shop and see what they say, I really don't know that much about paint and so forth. I would just apply the Zaino anyway but don't put it on the spot that is flaking.

Yup a body shop can only answer that question sorry. If you lucky they can do that spot and fade it to the rest of the paint good luck.
