I need to replace one of my O2 Mustang GT stock 17x8 bullitt wheels. Is this the same as the original wheel, same color gray and style? http://www.speedconcepts.net/product_info.php?products_id=175&osCsid=7c20e7b446bc60354bc7a7ad698a9aa1 part number is M-1007-J178.

I know that people who buy aftermarket 10.5 inch bullitt wheels for the rear complain that the gray is darker than stock 17 x 8 rims.

Definately go through American Muscle. I just got my wheels from them and i ordered on thursday evening and got them the following tuesday. And i paid under a grand for 4 wheels and the 315's mounted and balanced on the rears for free.

Americal muscle only sells replica wheels...and not in 17x8 form.

I beleive he is looking to replace only 1 wheel.

In that case, the Ford Racing bullitt wheels (which are 17x8) do not match the 01-02 wheels. They are the 03/04 wheels.

I know this because I just ordered two of them to replace two of my wheels.

PS. Ford is closing them out, and recommended sale price is $100/ea. That's the price i got mine at plus shipping.

PPS. If you are going to order replica bullitt wheels, you really need to order 4 in my opinion. The replicas do not match the OEMs at all...not just in color. The hub is shaped differently and the lip has more polish to it than OEM. When i see OEM bullitts on the front and replicas out back, it sticks out like a sore thumb to me

So are you saying the wheels that are in the link he posted will NOT match the original OEM Bullitts? Because American Muscle does infact sell 17x8 Bullitts but they are in the color anthracite which is darker than the OEM bullitts. But the wheels in the link the OP posted here says that they are gunmetal.

Well, here it is straight from the Horses mouth.

http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=5094

That particular Ford racing wheel is modeled under the 03/04 Bullitt wheel which is a darker anthracite wheel. It's generally thought of as the better looking color so every aftermarket bullitt wheel out there is modeled on the 03/04 color.

So if you have an 03/04 GT and buy a set of DD wheels, they will match the fronts fine. I've put my '03 next to cars with replica bullitts and they match perfectly. I am talking in terms of color. You still have the differences in hub shape and the level of polish on the lip.

If you own an 01 or 02 with bullitts, you are kinda SOL. If you want deep dish, you either have to put up with the color difference...or buy all 4 wheels.

American Muscle does sell 17x8 bullitts, but Ford is actually selling theirs for cheaper. Like i said, i just bought two OEM Ford bullitt wheels (link above) for $100 each just last week

Here's a good pic.

01-02 bullitt wheel on right, and replica 17x9 on car. The darker shade is the same shade as the 03/04 bullitt wheel.

Also note the differences in the hubs and polished lips.

And just for the hell of since I have more wheels kicking around then sense.

An 01/02 bullit compared to my OEM '03 bullitt wheels. I tried to take the shot from the same angle so you can see the color difference. The ones with the new tires are my '03 bullitts. '

This is the exact information I was looking for. I was afraid that Ford made a color change. I'm not sure what to do now. I wonder if Ford even sells the 01-02 wheel anymore. Ford usually wants a crazy price for a factory wheel ,which was why I was happy to see Ford Racing selling the 17x8 wheel.

If anybody has a 01/02 Bullitt 17x8 OEM wheel send me a PM.

Thanks,
Jerry
