found some part

I found 2 mid 90s explorer's this weekend at the junk yard both 5.0 complete motors I think for about 100 I could get the heads and intake so my main question is getting the parts worth it or would I be better just saving my money and getting better stuff? I just got the car 95 triple black gt 85k miles bone stock part of me wants to mod it but I kinda want to keep it that way since you don't see to many left that are unmolested. Also I have a 5.0 upper and lower intake from an early 90s Lincoln is that worth doing anything with or just scrap

The GT40p Intake and Heads are OK. Would be better if you mill the heads and get some port work done. A stock 5.0 Lincoln intake is no better than whats on your car currently.

Thanks I will probably hold off and save up and get some aluminum heads. I would like to do a build to get around 350 then maybe supercharge it.

Stock iron heads weigh in at 44lbs where as the aluminum are 22lbs, so times two and the weight saving is great. Not saying you can't get any performance out of those iron heads but with port work they could be so much better in my opinion. I'm a fan of aluminum though. Check out the sticky thread which has head flow rates and member combo's. Should give you a better idea on what HP each combo will make.
