I have a 1992 LX convertible.

Which years of the fox body hoods would be a direct replacement for mine ?

^^ Just for future reference.

The Ford Fox platform is a rear wheel drive, unibody automobile architecture that Ford used for 25 years in the North American market. It was designed to be relatively lightweight and simple, in keeping with the general downsizing of Detroit designs in the late 1970s.

Vehicles using this platform:

1978-1983 Ford Fairmont
1978-1983 Mercury Zephyr
1979-1993 Ford Mustang
1979-1986 Mercury Capri
1980-1988 Ford Thunderbird
1980-1988 Mercury Cougar
1981-1982 Ford Granada
1982-1987 Lincoln Continental
1983-1986 Ford LTD
1983-1986 Mercury Marquis
1984-1992 Lincoln Mark VII

This is the correct answer.

Any earlier Fox-Mustang hoods will not fit.

79-82, 83-86, 87-93. SVO cars had their own unique hood.

Are there any Capri and Mustang hoods compatible? If so, what years?

No. Capri's had a unique nose, so the hood shape at the front is different.

For Mustangs:
1) 79-82
2) 83-86
3) 87-93

84-86 SVO's have their own unique hood

For Capris:
79-86 is all the same and will not work on the Mustang without changing the nose as well
