That's a 500 car at best. I've been buying and selling mustang s in Florida for a decade and there are MUCH better deals.

Yeah true, buy why all these low prices? Is it cause it's a 2.3? How much would it be worth if I were to get a 5.8 in there with maybe like 60k Ish miles semi built , new paint fixed and cleaned interior, fixed exterior be. Cause if I do sell this car after owning it for a while id like to see a profit. And well it's gonna take a lot of convincing to go to 500, the guy did a lot of suspension work

You would easily have 6k into that car trying to restore it. That's a donor car at best. Look for a clean roller if you want to do a 351 swap.

Yeah, but I personally don't like the convertibles, there not very rigid, and I'm also always worried about thieves, someone broke into my friends bmw convertible and stole it right out the parking lot, he ripped the top open to get in. also I hopefully plan to one day when I'm older to turn this into a drag car, and when I get this car I'll have over a year or more to get it all looking good. Probably just turn it into a decent daily I can enjoy myself in. For a while.

valid reasoning.

Damn really, even if I do most of the repairs myself? my dads really good at working on these cars, I thought I'd be more around 1k for paint about 1k for motor and tranny from CL,(comes with exhaust but I need swap headers) interior parts that it needs 300ish (it honestly doesn't need much), exterior I'd say about 1.4k for tails, headlights<(have some laying around)new hood and some wheels with tires. I also planned on selling the 2.3 and tranny. Also we have all the tools that we need, (he owns a car dealership now, but we repair cars to)

Trust me man. Trim and interior parts add up quick. As do the 351 swap goodies. By your math you are already at 3400. And you haven't covered incidentals, gaskets, fluids, swap harnesses, ecu, injectors, And you still have a swapped 4 banger that does not sell well. Everyone wants an original v8 car. run screaming.

Here's another car that you could likely get for under 3k

Hmm not bad,(just not a fan of 4 eyes ) pretty good for all that it comes with, yeah if I do get this one if go 500, I appreciate everyone's help, this car is a POS but I think it'll be a fun POS that my friends and family can all help out on, I think I'd be fun, I'll check CL again cause I saw a clean black foxhatch for like 500 just she'll though, no interior either. Also he said to me something about a pinion seal needing replacing to... Hope the seal isn't to much

If you get that 4 banger don't pay a dime over 1k. Get it running and drive as is. When/if you buy another Fox swap over the suspension, that 3g alternator and anything else that may be worth saving. 4 bangers aren't worth turning into anything other than transportation.

He figured a grand in materials if he did it himself. It's doable but even in material costs he could be into a much better car.
