I am thinking about cutting maybe half a coil off the rear springs on my Stang, so do I need to cut from the top, or the bottom?

I have read that a full coil cut off will result in about a 1" drop. Is this accurate? I just want to get my rear a little lower, but I don't want to overdue it.

Here it is now.

You wanna cut them at the top where all the coils are the same size. Don't cut the small pigtail or the spring won't perch on the control arm.

Nice Mustang...looks very familar!

Nice! Gotta love them deep dishs in the back. Did you cut your factory springs? I think I will go w/ 1/2 coil, and see what it looks like. I should'nt have to worry about letting the coils settle seeing as how I have had these for a few months now, correct?

They will have to settle again. I have C springs in and didnt like the way they looked so my brother cut them to his specs and all there is now is a little bumpier ride that's been taking care of by way of strange engineering.Hope this helps

I like them. I was really worried to go any lower because of the ride quality, but I could stand for maybe a full 1" in the back.

the directions that come in the box say that if you want to cut the rears, cut off the top part of the coil, and if you want to cut the fronts, cut the bottom part

Quick question about your C springs. From the looks of the pic, it looks like you have a nice rake look. How much did the springs lower your car? How does the ride feel compared to stock? Right now I am running a side exhaust kit and only have about 4 inches of ground clearence if that to play with, but I really want springs. Any words of wisdom on the C springs?

Cuz the real springs in the fms C kit are designed in such a way that ALLOWs you to cut them. There is a dead coil which does nothing but allow the coils with spring tension to rest against it. The dead coil adds a certain amount of ride height. You can remove it and it will not affect how the spring, "springs" but will just make the car sit lower
