fuel pressure regulator 98gt

I think my fuel pressure reg. on my 98gt is bad. The replacement is nothing like the old one. What's up? Do I have to get new fuel rails?

The fuel pressure regulator on the 98 is part of the fuel rail and cannot be removed. I replaced mine with a 97 fuel rail and installed an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. I'm much happier with that setup, but you will have to replace some of your vacuum lines to do the swap...

do the 97' fuel rails bolt on direct?

Yes, but you will have to replace the red plastic vacuum lines with rubber hoses.
