I'm was about to change my fuel filter just now but it started to rain,i was going to releive the fuel pressure on my car but i was wondering how to do it exactly. Do i turn the car on and press the red button on the fuel release switch?and also do i remove the fuses that go to the fuel pump? Any help would be appreciated.

Just unscrew the gas cap to relieve pressure. Regardless of what you do, a small amount of fuel will run out on you.

I'm done, that was easy, the line from the fuel tank just had a few drops coming off of it and the other line i plugged with a pen. When i took the filter out i held it with a rag on one end so it would land on me. And i did it all without and jacks too, lol.

You unplug the electrical connection to the inertia switch, then crank the car. It will relieve the pressure and not start. You just plug it back in when you are done. The button is only used to reset the switch after it has been tripped by being jarred.
