Fuel pump question

I ran my codes today and got this:

172: Heated exhaust gas oxygen sensor - voltage signal indicates "lean" (Bank #1)

542: Fuel Pump (FP) circuit open connection - Electronic Control Assembly (ECA) to motor ground.

Anyone know what these mean in English?

My car runs ok...it runs bad only intermitently...feels like it is being bogged down...i guess being lean would explain that? Do you think my fuel pump could be going out?

Does the car run bad when it's warm, or cold????

The o2 code could mean that bank 1 is running lean, or the O2 just thinks that b/c it's screwed up.


But you should check your fuel pressure first. Should be around 39 at idle and 32 or so w/o vacuum.

Runs bad when it is hot most of the time, but occasionly it has its spurts of running bad when it is cold too. Like it doesnt want to go. Not sure what the fuel pump code means?
