Just wanted to know how much of a PIA this is. I think I understand whats involved, just wondering how long its gonna take, and if its just time consuming or is there some difficulties to expect. And if there are any tips or tricks to help me along. Thanks
I recently dropped the tank on my 2000. I was expecting it to be a bigger deal. Working from jack stands in my driveway, it took less than 1.5 hours to remove the tank (including dragging out the tools).
The biggest PIA was cutting the filler neck grommet.
There was still 1/4 tank when I dropped the tank. Lesson learned. Get the tank as empty as possible.
Be sure to have a new filler neck grommet. Lub it with something like petroleum jelly.
