The little relay bolted to the floor under the drivers seat HAS to be hooked up. It kills the pump in case of a wreck or an extreme angle.

The Fuel pump relay is under the seat on foxes until about the last year - they moved to the engine compartment at that point (next to the WOT relay).

The fuel pump relay doesnt care how it's mounted - it is just a relay. The inertia switch in the trunk is what is the safety precaution in the event of a collision.

Feel around under the seat and carpet for the relay wiring harness and socket - remove the seat if necessary.
You dont want to hamburger together the fuel pump circuit to make the car run (and no, there is no ground wire bolted to anything, so dont sweat that thought).

Good luck.

You can get a new relay from Ford ($$) or at the auto parts store. I'm pretty sure Sorenson is one company who makes one that works.

You could jump the relay but it's not the smartest move (jumping the common and Normally Open terminals). I'd hit the J/Y, dealer or parts store for the right part.

FWIW, the WOT relay should be the same part number if you want to make sure the car starts right now.

Good luck.
