Fuel Stabalizer, Question

Quick question, my cars in the garage for the winter, and people said to add fuel stabalizer as a good precaution. Its getting real cold here in Chicago, so now that I am back from school, I was going to pick some up. Now, do I have to drive the car in order for it to properly flow through the system, or can I let it sit in the garage with the car running for like 30 minutes? And also do I need a full tank? Because I am under half right now, and theres too much snow and ice in my alley, so my cars staying put, not gonna mess up the LT's.

Use as directed. Don't use the whole bottle unless it says to. I know Stabil is 10ml for every 3L of gas. If you pour the directed ammount of stabilizer into the fuel tank, you should run your car for ATLEAST 5 minutes (watch the fumes if it's in the grage). Doing so will keep your gas fresh, assumming that it hasn't been sitting to long prior to the introduction of the fuel stabilizer.

Yes you must run the engine to make sure the stabilizer works it's way into the entire system. Also with "Stabil", they suggest that you can double the recomended ammount if your vehicle will be stored for an extended amount of time.

I've done this with my boat every year. I double the dosage for 20 gal., run it for 10 min., and it sits for up to 6 months. Cranks right up every spring.

I agree with the others. As for a full tank of gas, that would be ideal but if you stay with what you have it isn't the end of the world. Just make sure to fill it to the top a bit sooner next fall . A little extra Stabil than what is recommended won't hurt anything so go with an estimate of what you have in the tank right now. Next year when you take it out, go fill it up right away to dilute any extra you might have added.

Add fuel stabilizer accordingly, then take your car out for a "shake" so that the gas and stabilizer gets well mixed.
