have any of you measured your g capabilities?
i saw a guy at willow that had a gps device that measures lap times and g forces via sattelite. he said its accurate as it checks in with the sat. 16 times a second or something like that.

if you have some specs lets hear em tire size and side g force...

or if you know of other cars capbilities be it f1 or pinto why not add them here too so we can compare. and grow to be FASTER!

i know some folks argue about g force measuring devices but that is not what this should be about. once we find the few that claim to have the highest g force and lap times we will have a west and east coast meet and compete.

A stopwatch does the same thing.

His telemetry/dataloging allows him to make changes and see how it effects the car in different spots of the track. You might make a change that lowers overall lap times but slows the car down in some spots. Lets you know where you're at.

Outside of that.......

I doubt I'm the 'winner', but here is my data from Waterford Hills in October from my fastest lap.

Tires: Avon Tech Ra (no Hoosiers) 225/50/15 on 15x8 steelies with -2.75 deg camber in front
Suspension: Mostly Maier parts (springs 700f/200r, Bilsteins, Adj Panhard) with a bunch of homemade Opentracker style parts in the front (perches, LCA spherical, strut rod).
Brakes: Cobra Calipers and factory pads, 12" '03 Crown Vic front rotors, stock Cobra rear rotors, SVO booster, 2000 V6 MC

It's a Race-Technology DL1. You can see it hanging from the windshield if you look close. I also have it logging my wideband sensor, a MAP sensor, and RPM from the MSD box. Throttle position and some engine temps will be added over the winter. It's really helped me zero in on my carb tune.

I bought it primarily for autocross use in a different car this past season. It helped compare co-drivers between runs.

Looks like a sweet tool, but the price is high. If I were to buy this with a group of friends, is it easy to move from car to car ?

It's not too bad to move. The GPS antenna sticks to the roof with a magnet and the wire threads into the back of the unit. Then you can run power to it from the cigarette lighter. I have it mounted to the windshield with a suction cup mount.
