Guys,

I'm thinking about having my T-5 rebuilt by G-Force Transmissions. I don't know very much about the differences between the kits they offer for the t-5 which is: synchronized, dog ring straight cut, and helical cut dog ring. What's the difference? What's the best for a daily driven street car w/ minimal track time (no slicks)? Anyone have experience w/ G-Force stuff??

My daily driven '99 GT has had a recent P-1SC kit installed (this week) so I'm looking to make the drivtrain strong enough to handle some abuse. This is a daily driven car!!!

Thanks for your help!

Dave

Straight cut gear will be loud, notchy and should be used for racing purposes.
The helical cut gears are street friendly and offer a quieter and smoother
operation. MM&FF or 5.0 did a write-up on them several months ago, maybe
a year, it's been awhile and I'm just going from memory.

dog rings are for clutchless shifting, strait cut gear will greatly increase the strenght of any trans but will whine. I would stay away from proshifted or dog ring trannies for street driving. Go with synchro's and helical gears and a good shifter.
