So has anyone heard what kind of mileage the 3v 4.6 is going to get? I'm hoping it willl increase 2mpg or so over the current gen of cars because of the VVT. Anyone know, or have any theories?

Damn that would be pretty good, usually on cars I own I get the EPA Highway mileage in my regular driving which is like 60% highway/40% low traffic around the city.

If I could get 27mpg with a 05 I would be pumped!

27? Sounds like a bit much to jump from 18 to 27 . I think I read 22 somewhere.

The 2004 GT mileage ratings are:

Manual: 17 mpg / 25 mpg
Automatic: : 18 mpg / 23 mpg

The previously quoted mileage of 27 highway doesn't seem impossible given the current rating of 25.

27mpg highway should be possible. LS1's have ranged from 28 to 29mpg hwy EPA rated, hopfully the new 4.6L can get into that range. Gearing will play a big role, are all GTs getting 3.55s?
