The funny thing about this whole thing is that the government is trying to pin this on the oil companies when they really need to be looking at themselves and giving us some tax breaks before they start blaming others.

Right now the oil companies are making .9 cents a gallon when the government is making between .50-.62 cents a gallon in taxes. So you see oil companies making record profits but think about what the government is getting and that's just one tax out of the hundreds that we have to pay. Marriage, Death, Income, Social Secutity, State, Hotel, Rental, Capitol Gains, Hunting, Fishing and the list goes on and on and on. 40% of my income is lost in taxes and given to Social Security which I will never see a penny of.

So instead of pointing out the oil companies for doing what every other business does in this capitolist country, we as citizens need to call for tax breaks and ease up on the restrictions for oil exploration and benefits for those exploing alternative fuel options.

I take it you haven't got a copy of For Rent in front of you. I'm looking at it. And they start at $625. And go up to $1010. For one bedrooms. Archstone in Redmond is $740. Not a bad place. The heights is another place. Not bad and starts at $820. Since I work in redmond now I have been looking.
