ok so it sounds like everyone had fun today that went gokarting. let see is we can rant a track next time if everyone is up to de throne me (he he he) . im thinking of a date in the middle of november. at sykat or hottracks which ever track people want or is cheaper or what ever. right now my best at hottracks is a 24.7 the record is 24.1 at sykart in the 5.5s ive gone 32.2 best that i know of is 31.2 and in the 9hp cars at sykart the best is 29.5 by yours trully. but if we do sykart i will do all but 1 run in a 5.5hp cars. pats achers is out for the winter time cuz of out door track and if i remeber right they only have 4 or 5 rentals. i will check on options for rental on both how much for how many and how long will the rental time be.

I had a lot of fun today, and I'm up for the track rental idea. Four sessions on the track today did remind me that I'm old & fat . My arms are tired...

Ya that was a blast today, except my back looks like I slid into first base on it, next time i'm using that foam cushion every race. That was alot of fun i'm looking forward to next time.Don't feel bad Dave I feel like I ran the course on my feet not in the car, guess im a little outta shape to.Scooby you were definately kicking some ass, but beware with some more practice will be a little more competive, BTW what a courteous driver you are never was passed before with out getting p.. off...excellent driving As far as you Keith... well no more need be said...j/k....Not...

Ed, you're probably more sore from the snack afterwards than from the karting itself ...

Keith and I obviously have more experience in such matters....

Glad you guys had fun, how does renting the track work? What are the prices versus paying by session?

well checked in to track rental thing and it 800 hr at sykart and 1100 at hot tracks an thats as many people you want but if you want to get in the 9s at sykart if there 6 of you that want to do you can get a private lesson 45$ and about an hour of driving theory and about an hour in the 9s then your qualifyed for the 9s and can try and catch me in those which i dont hold the record any more im 3rd the record is now 28.7 im still at 29.5 which i got videos of both tracks and at sykart im in the 9s all i got to say is i didnt know i was going that fast the video tells all.

That's more than I expected ... I would bet that during regular hours Hot Track rarely sees $1100 in a single hour -- it could be done with 10 cars simultaneously on the track for all but four minutes of the hour, and they would all need to be first-time non-member drivers paying $16 for the session.

So I don't know how interested I am in spending three or four times as much money for go-karting . It wasn't all that bad when we got there at 10am Saturday, now that I think about it...

what about the private class at sykart they can arrange it for any time and then the 6 people would drive the 9s for hour privately (only people on the track) and only 45$ and when ever you come back you drive the 9s when ever you want

Good points.

The operators of Hot Track should see the wisdom of my signature and put down the pipe.

Eric,

This sounds interesting. I'm down. Thier track isn't as good as Hot Tracks though.

hey I know this is off topic, but I've heard of people *renting* pir as a group? and some people said that it actually wasnt that much... if thats possiblt itd be cool as hell to get a group of stangneters together and bombard pir for a day... think of how many runs we could get in...

We discussed that in the past, and the cost is much too high. You have the costs for the track, the staff, the equipment, the paramedics, and insurance. If you do a search, the topic may still be on here somehwere -- it was thousands of dollars, I don't remember the exact figure though.
