Next project is going to be a 4" cowl hood. Any suggestions for a bolt on type hood? I have my eye on the Harwood 4" cowl...

Cervinis makes a quality hood bolt on and your stock latch will still work as well. Excellent fit.

They make new pistons every day, so why worry?

I have a BOSS hood. They made the factory Steeda hoods and are top quality. I have a 2.5" cowl on mine.
Cervinis fits well and is an excellent hood. They didn't have one with a finished underside for my 85'

Cervini's is a sure bet for quality.
Consider a 2 inch if possible, 4 is pretty tall for a street car.

Personally, I have only used Cervini for the last 20 years but Boss and Harwood make a quality product. Stay away from anything from companies made in Cincinnati, OH as they use several names and the quality is terrible.

I will add, and this is my opinion only, but I would never put a fiberglass hood on without installing pins as an added safety measure. Having a hood fly up on you at highway speed is not something you want to experience.

Good point. I put pins on last summer knowing I was eventually going to put a fiberglass hood on at some point. I have read stories about hoods popping up.....

Thanks for all the input guys, got a lot of homework to do. After reading 84ttop's post I looked at the Boss hood. It looks well built and got great reviews on Corral.net. The black gelcoat finish is a bonus as I don't plan on painting right away.
