Get a Motorcraft if possible. I know Walmart carries them. Stay away from Fram.

I use the K&N filter, but now it looks like Mobil 1 is the choice. Looks like the same exact filter as the K&N except for the hex on the end of the K&N. Same Part#

i know the pep boys here carries motorcraft filters. either get that or the purolator, its the exact same thing ie purolator makes motorcraft. if you want to splurge get the mobil 1 or the k&n, stay away from fram, i used to use them, but they tend to cost more and their filtering material isnt as good.

I use the K&N cause it's good and it has the hex nut on the end. I have big hands and it's hard for me to get a hold of the filter when it's in place. I like the nut. K&Ns are expensive though. If you don't need the nut then get the Motorcraft.

I tend to stick with Motorcraft also. I use Fram on the Jeep.

frams are horrendous flowing units. avoid like the plague.

I had always used mobil 1 on the vette, but the last two changes I've gone with k&n. My idle pressure is up, oil temps more stable, I really like the k&n. Unparalleled flow. but cost...

I'm still going to use it, though

Right! I'm like ??? I mean.. you throw it away after 3000-3500 miles anyway.. I've always used FRAM on all my cars when I do my own oil changes..If I take it in, whatever they put in is fine with me, as long as it's new! But, use this.. or don't use that??? Come one, it's just an oil filter.. If you change your oil regularly.... what does it matter? No flames here guys, just my .01,02..(counting). .05 cents.

This is one of the best web sites I've seen on filter comparisons.

Dittos - I like the hex nut! Tough to remove by hand or with a filter wrench, but easy with a box wrench.
