I just got a pair of non-PI heads. They are getting port and polished as we speak. What kind of cams, valvetrain should I get? I want an aggressive cam, but one that will bring the best results. Any input?

Who is doing the Headwork? Until I know that, your best bet would be the Comp 262AH( PI cams ) or Comp 270's( PI ) and either Crower or Comp springs with them.

VT Stage 1 and Stage 2 cams seem to have a GREAT reputation around here. Check out there page. Just wonderin, why did u decide to pick up the Non-PI heads and port/polish instead of just picking up some 99+ PI heads? You won't gain much at all with the port/polish job over the PI heads

Hmm get some VT stg2 s with those heads, they are going to flow darn good.

You know P&Pd NPI heads actually flow more than P&Pd PI heads? Alot of racers have been porting the NPI heads vs P&Pd PI, for a while now. It doesnt seem to make sence, but it has something to do with opening up the NPIs and their flow restriction gets eleminated...supposedly you have to grind something out i hear. But im no expert so..no details unfortunatly.

Unless you plan on buying Crower Offset retainers and possibly valve reliefs machined into the pistons, I would not consider running the VT Stg II cams in NPI heads. The max lift you can get with NPI's and Comp springs with stock retainers is .550 lift. I would choose the Comp 262s or 270 over the VT cams as well. I am running .581 lift cams in my NPI heads but you won't get that unless you do the above.
