Well, tonight I got the sb togetor .

I need to grind the oil pan a lil bit then other than that it's just gaskets and the heads. I'm dropping it in tomorrow night (sat). And my arp oil pump drive shaft was tapered pretty far down and I didnt have to cut the end of the dizzy off.

Looks good! And when you put the oil pan on, don't over tighten the bolts lol. I think I've got about a quart of oil on the underside of my car.

I have no desire to build my own block nor have the time anymore.

Today I started to clean up my accessory brackets. Then realized I'm sweatin balls and bailed out. Send them for powder coat. No way in hell I'm polishing them.

Looks badass man! You only need the hardened oil pump shaft if you have a high presure oil pump right? Im re-using my stock one and want to make sure.

Sweetness!!!! I have a bare block sitting in the garage right now and am planning on a stroker motor. I know I'll probably save a few dollars by just going the crate route, but once,,just once, I want to build my own motor and hear it run.

Did you have a machine shop mic and gauge everything or did you do it yourself??

Is the motor balanced & are you going with regular or blueprinting specs???

Yes, at first I used plastigauge and everything looked ok but I still had them check it. It only cost $45 or so if i had the bearings installed in the block and rods.

I'm not 100% sure what is exactly considered blueprinting. the crank is a 0 balance and the machine shop got it right on spec I dont remember the bob weight. The rods and pistons all came out the same and my ring gaps are .020 for the top and .024 for the bottom and the oil rings had plenty of space. I had to do a few mock ups to make sure everything had plenty of space. I ended up grinding the oil pump and the piston walls in the block. I checked my ptvc last night and i'm on great shape even with having my vic jr's milled .042.

Powder coating looks awesome on them.
