Dale in Margate, FL is the ****.. First time I've taken my car to a shop and offered beer while I wait. Real cool dudes.

$80 bumper to bumper, interior, engine bay, claybar, and some 4 step polish

Before the comments arise, the narrowband A/F gauge was free and gave me somethin to do. I think I'm gonna unplug the damn thing though hahah

Couldn't do much about the underside of the hood. Hit a huge puddle in Texas and it sprayed the whole engine bay. Probably pull that out and spray paint it.

I'm happy he was able to tone down the factory screw up on my driver's side door to avoid getting it repainted by Ford for $600-700

Looks awsome, but I can almost guarantee you that for 80 bucks you did not get a 4 step paint reconditioning. I do auto detailing here in NY and a 3 or 4 step paint recondition service is at least 200$!

I was about to say. I also do detailing, and I charge over $200 for a 2 stage correction including clay, compound, polish and wax. For $80, I'd say they did a pretty damn good job, but they forgot the best part...tire shine!!

Lookin' good man, I've always loved Sonic Blue!

I can only notice it at an angle in the sun but it still annoys me. Looks like this...

He did a decent job at hiding it though.

I'm not saying you're wrong but he's a pretty honest guy from what I've seen, VERY well known on the FL stang site. He told me as he was going through it (I was beside the car the entire time) but I'm also a noob and don't really remember what he was saying haha I know he said he could easily charge $150 for the work he does. Been doing it for 20+ years and says it was harder to keep customers because they'll come spend $150-200 and can't afford to do it again in a few months.

Before I brought the car there he mentioned claybar + 2 step polish, but he mentioned 4-step while I was there, unless he was talking about what he would LIKE to do with the rest of the car, like he did with the door, with the rubbing compound and stuff. It took 2 hours of work, not sure if that's comparible at all.

I was skeptical myself but alot of people say hes cheap, but does really good work. He works on salary, and it's a family business from what i hear, but he may also be doing it on the side.

The rubbing compound on the door made quite a difference on those messed up spots (I have about 4 of them )

Anyhow, thanks for the compliments guys! I don't think I'll ever own another color besides Sonic Blue haha

Yea, after reading the above post, theres no way he could do a whole 4 step job in 2 hours. It takes me 2 hours to wash and wax my car, nevermind a full claybar, compound, and polish. Again, regardless what I have to say, the guy does good work, and the car looks sick.

Well 2 hours not including wash But I guess I stand corrected, must have misunderstood him. He did the paint while the other dude did the interior.

Had a 68 Shelby in the garage that he had to move to bring my car in because it got dark. That thing was gorgeous, supercharged with 38,000 original miles on it.

I used to live in the northeast, and now live in the south. You would be shocked at how much cheaper many services go for in the south compared to NY/NJ area. In addition, if you find professionals who provide their services on the side after work hours, you can get TOP NOTCH services for dirt cheap compared to NY/NJ prices. I mean DIRT cheap, jaw-dropping prices. It would completely BLOW YOUR MIND honestly. I have had MANY services performed on my car that when I got the price for it, I felt tremendously guilty that I was completely exploiting the guy for his work. Big differences in prices once you leave the $$$$$$$$ NY/NJ area.

I love being back in South Florida. Prices are almost half of what I was quoted when I was in central Texas, for automotive work in general.

Yea NY is a rip off! Shops here charge 400 for lowering spring install, 400 for gear install, 800 for cams install.......insane! Most shops charge over 100 an hour.

Texas is close to these prices. 375 for gears without tuner or recal. Cams is close to that if not more and I was just quoted 300 for springs, shocks/struts, and CC plates. Yall don't want to know what I paid for gears, install and tune. I feel kinda ripped now but it is what it is I guess.

Oh and Sonic the car looks awesome! Time for some hood struts if you plan on keeping the hood up alot. Are those clear fog lights? If so they are subtle but look really clean!

Yeah I was quoted almost $500 for gear install when I was stationed at Fort Hood. They can go f*** themselves.

Thanks alot man, I'm already looking into hood struts I don't have much to show off under there but they're a nice addition to have.

They are supposedly American Muscle smoked fog lights. Bought them used off of a local guy. They look almost clear, with a very light tint. Very nice change over those crappy looking stock ones.
