This is just swell, Got invited to Gateway racetrack near St. Louis Friday night to see some action, my neighbor just finished up a 355 build in a 68 Camaro and and a friend of his who owns another Camaro has been talking smack so its on between the two of them, but Im hoping to see what I can do to make things interesting with my old Stang I havent done the 1320 in 4 years and would be happy to see some low 13s. I pulled something in my back and nearly collapsed on the ground as I was exiting my car to get some gas Sunday so Ive been on a Celebrex and Vicodin diet lately, my luck just sux Im walking around hunched over like I got kicked in nuts

Dam that sux. I had something similar happened to me . On advil for 6 weeks and a friend told me that it MIGHT be that my ham strings were too tight. Next thing you know I am stretching them. 2 days later ... no more advil!! Apparently the strings pull on yer back...at least for some people. I couldnt believe it , getting better all the time now!

Narrowing of the spine... that is ...called spinal stenosis right? There are meds for that and potential surgery (yuck)

Yes right, they also mentioned DDD (Degenerative disk disease) they wanted to replace the disks with some metal pieces but I opted not to do it

If you go to hang out I should be at GIR tomarrow, feel free to stop by and say hi if you see me. I am supposed to meet up with some buds...but I think they are going to ditch and not go so I will prob. be solo. Should be GREAT weather since the high is supposed to be like high 60's.

CLUSTER FAUK....sat for 5hrs to make 2 passes probably every 2 or 3 cars one broke.

Only thing I got done was finding a better launch rpm on street tires for this combo. I think I may have bum lifter(s) too...GREAT. Really sluggish revs after 4k and I was moving my shift points around to test on both passes. The same tune/setup that put down 250rwhp on a 90* high humidity day only got me a 14.2 @ 97mph .

Cluster Fauk and then some.. I was there in that looong line at 7pm, rumor went around that a few cars grenaded the track so like you had to wait and wait, everybody was pissed. When they finally opened up and started moving... I was next to race ..68-69 black Camaro had the outside lane...I was pumped reminding myself to launch on the secound amber after staging yada yada..then they shut down AGAIN and I wait for yet another 15 minutes or so..My wife callad me on the cell phone and we talked as I sat there smoking a cig, looking at my kid wave at me from the stands.. then I was up, went around the water box and staged...got decent grip at take off and hit 2nd.. and she just reved and went nowhere, and felt like the clutch slipped big time Its been suspect in my mind for a while now.. anyway 13.90 @ 102 mph is all I got for my frustration , I plan on going again in the spring after some changes and I hope me and the car have a better time BTW.. I was shooting for 13.50 or better.

I was left with a really bad taste in my mouf after last night. I just dont know if I will ever go back to GIR...far far too many nights like that for my money. I know alot of people are just going to KC or Benton's 1/8mile out of hate for GIR. It is a good track and the last open T&T with awsome weather so what do you expect though??

There is some rumbling of doing the winter dyno drags this winter again for 10$ and 3 pulls...beats 20$ for 2 passes in 5hrs. I think I will make a baseline pull and then swap out all the lifters with new ones and go back to see if they do the dyno drags again. I know what the base line would translate to in "real world" track times so I could get a rough guess of 1/4 if the lifters are an issue. I am just looking to T&T this thing to get it were it should be...hell even a G-tech could get that done as long as its consistant in it self.

There were some damn nice cars out there. I heard Huber's pass over the PA...that thing is the benchmark for all turob 4's IMHO.

Dont know the guy but heard too, cant recall the time.. Seen a VW run 10s 0r 11s, lots of Camaros up here I noticed, saw a red 4.6 GT with a blower miss a gear and stiil do a 13.4 Def awesome cars but I too was disapointed for my first time at GIR. Lifters huh? I think my valve springs are weak.. all the stuff Ive done to my car HCI etc is 5 yrs old and Ive beat on it real bad.. Im getting my neighbors 306 and stroking it this winter with some new heads clutch etc... Ive got to get some Killer canary type #s LOL. I got some surgury on Oct 31 to amputate the rest of my finger and after my rehab its on bro. Let me know about the Dyno sessions we can meet up for that

I dont know Huber either but know of the car from years and years of hearing about it/seeing it.

good luck with the surg. and rehab.

Last year the dyno drags were like every fri or backup sat over the winter (like 3mo). It is setup as a bracket series and has some interesting rules/theories as its different from 1/4 track racing. Basicly alot of guys hanging out (they offered frozen pizza to eat for free) shooting the breeze watching some neat cars run from behind a lexan wall. Great safe car thing to do over the cold STL winter.
