In my seemingly never-ending debate over which new Mustang to get, I am now considering another model, the GT/CS. I was previously trying to decide between a loaded GT and a Bullitt, but I do like how the GT/CS looks.....except for the awful stripe down the side. WTF is with that!! The car looks so clean with the front and rear fascias, and then they throw on a black matte sticker that throws off the whole theme IMO. Has anyone succesfully removed these and have any pictures? Advice? Thanks!

I have seen cars that have it removed and read threads about people having zero problems removing it. The 2009's can be had with a white stripe instead of black.

I removed factory stripes from my 2007, and it was a pain in the balls..It took my guy over 4 hours to get all the glue off, with out damaging the paint, and I had a proffesional do it..

if the car is new(newer the easier!) pickup some "Goo-Gone" or some other glue remover, a hair dryer, and one of those plastic squigee's.. blow dry it until the metal behind the sticker is warm, then carefully peel it off... and just keep moving down the line.

to get rid of any excess glue, use that goo-gone crap, soak it into a rag or something that you can leave on top of it for a few minutes to soak in. rinse and wax after its all done.

tbh, removing any strip is easy. Just need to be patient. Once you start to rush things, then you damage your clearcoat.

I hear you, my car is red fire with that black stripe, doesn't accent at all. Gold or white would of looked so much better.
