Found this while exploring and old abandoned house a while back.

Ok. Best I got is some sort of GM head gasket. This one matches up, even with the odd kick out on the bottom of the gasket I'm holding.

I'm guessing 31-33 Chevy but not confirmed yet.

The heart shape indicates a flat head ,the heart is for the valves to clear .I know Buick and i think Packard had a straight eight .

Yep ,Packard, Buick ,Pontiac, and Chrysler all had flat straight eight's from 31 -35 .
I almost bought a 2 door sedan 32 Buick with a straight eight but the guy backed out on me . I restored a 32 Buick for the guy that drove in the first group of people that where the first car across the Golden Gate Bridge when it was opened ,that was a 20 model Caddy.

Thank you sir

From your info, 41-48 Olds 4.2L inline 8.

Now to find a good place to hang it in the garage.

I used to work at a shop for a landscape company. The old man next door would come over sometimes and talk about stuff. He used to talk about his Olds straight 8 he once owned. He said, "stomp down on that thing and it sounded like distant thunder" That's the only mental link that made me think Olds.

That was 30 years ago at least. Some things you never forget.
