Wow, a II went for 15.5k. Awesome. Those Handlers are by far the best looking fastback IIs ever made.

What is the story behind the dash inlay?
View attachment 481941

I read somewhere ( a looong time ago) that this kind of dash was an option at one time, or model, or something. I have never seen one in person. Does anyone know the history behind this dash inlay? I posted a thread about this years ago as well on the old forum format. Nobody knew then. Maybe someone does now?

The dash bezel insert is from the Ghia sports group cars. Available, as I recall, in either Chamois or Midnight Blue exteriors only. Seem to recall seeing some with funky trunk straps back in the day. I belive Bernie just posted about these in this thread...http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=616190

I have seen that dash pattern in a guys' King Cobra a long time ago. The guy I bought my T-Top '78 from had a King, and it had that fancy blue-plaid type interior and that same dash bezel. I didn't know any different at the time..
