Hey, well i have had the Cam in for about 4 months now, and it idled great for about 3 months. But over the past month it has gotten progressivly worse and worse. I have had my 65mm T-body on for a long time now and the blade is pretty gunked up. Im guessin the idle bypass(iac??) is pretty gunked up too. So i got a gasket kit and im gonna clean everything out soon and see if that helps. My Questin is should i just clean the idle bypass thing, or should i just go get a new one and put it on? Where could i get one? and how much do they cost??

Try cleaning it with some carb cleaner. If you still have trouble idling, buy a new one from 50resto.com. It's the cheapest place I could find, and the part is an actual Motorcraft part.

Yeah, well it used to idle great, Then it would give me like one small surge, then a while later it was two small surges, then it was a big one, then a few big ones. Now it wont even idle at all barely. doesnt matter how i play with the idle screw or the throttle screw it still idle like crap.

My car used to idle great and then I chaged up the intake tract and it got all funky. Have you changed anything like that? I think it has something to do with the position of the MAF, but I'm not sure. Check something like that.

I woud try cleaning it up a bit. Also check aroud the intake for maybe a loose vac line or upper/lower intake gasket is bad and causing a vac leak.

I didnt change anything with the intake system. Its a Pro-M 80mm i have a remote optimizer to make it work with my 24# injectors. IM gonna check that this weekend to see if maybe the stettings changed or somthing. But other wise i changed nothing, and it just got worse and worse, which i what makes me think that the IAC is getting slowly but surely clogged or soemthing like that. I know my blade is pretty gunked up and sticky so i bet the IAC is too.
