If done by a good shop, it will look good. I say go wingless myself though.

IMO do a low gloss black w/ clearcoat instead of a true flat black paint. You could also use a gloss black with a flatening agent w/ clearcoat for the same effect. ALso do the grill delete and Mach 1 chin spoiler if you haven't done so already as they look awesome with the partial blackout hood. I would forget painting the rear spoiler. IMO it makes the spoiler look tacky like its primed and waiting for someone to paint it.

Had mine and a friends done at work they look great dont do the wing it looks like it was just slapped on I dont even like it on the mach 1. I had my body guy shoot the hoods and scoop with one step base coat with a deadner added to get the look we wanted

i'm actually going this week to have someone take a look at the hood scoop and the rear lower bumper being painted black. i have a min grey vert and i have the grill delete and front spoiler and they look great. i was thinking that painting just the hood scoop black and no other part of the hood would make the scoop stand out more and look functional. i also have the rear honeycomb panel and it looks great. anything black against the min grey looks really good. i thought about the spoiler like the mach 1's but i'm not sure yet. anyone have pics of just the scoop painted?

It is a nice retro touch. You should seriously consider the Mach 1 chin spoiler and some Bullitt wheels to complete the look (if you do not have them already). I think that painting the hood is cool if you do not do the whole thing. There are just too many Honda Civics with the whole hood black ... certainly not worth being associated with.
