i've had horrible abdominal pains for a while - so i broke down and went to the er. i have a history of kidney stones, so it was no surprise when they took a ct scan and found a stone in my left kidney. the problem ... this thing's roughly the size of an Abrams tank. so bright and early tomorrow morning i am going in for a lithotripsy surgery. should be pretty straight forward, but either way it's gonna suck. once the stone is broken up the real fun begins. i have to pass the broken pieces. "sorry little fella but this is for your own good" i've been telling him, but he ain't buying it.

just to give you a frame of reference of just how pleasant it is passing a kidney stone, pretend you are naked in a field of flowers, covered in butter and a horde of Roseanne Barr's are charging toward you at full tilt. or maybe imagine jerking off with a cheese grater, or being drug face down through hell by your testicles.

wish me luck. ouch.

Man - sorry to hear that...I just went through one a few months ago - it was the worst experience of my life!
Mine was a worst case senereo - it was too large to pass, but too small to blast. They had to "manually" remove it by going up through "you know where".
After they removed it, they had to implant a stent between my bladder and my kidney to keep the opening intact. That stupid stent was the worst part. Every time I pissed, it felt like I was getting punched in the kidneys over and over until I stopped going. Even Lortabs didn't help the pain much.
The whole experience SUCKED! I'd rather break bones than go through that again!

HANG IN THERE BUDDY

you will be alright. get it down and out the way now before it gets twice as bad.

I had really bad stomach pains as well like a month ago...it turned out to be a Colon infection...Diverteculitis....they got me on antibyotics...I got to go back in two weeks to see if they need to cut the infected part of my colon out.....so we are kinda on the same page.

hope evertyhing goes all right.

thanks for all the kind words guys. i'm home now and i have PLENTY of chemicals in my system to help me along. now i just have to pass all the broken pieces of stone. that will be the hardest part. but, i have $105 worth of rx's to get me through that. and since i'm too stoned and sore to work on my car, clean my car, or drive my car i'll just sit here on stangnet and admire other people's cars. oh hey ironman i see you got your car painted, looks damned good man. did your dad do that work? looks very good. anyway, thanks to all for the encouragement. and remember, don't over do it with the cokes and pepsis or you will have the same problem i am having.

wow ironman that's great you have somebody knowledgable there to help you. my dad was a total bum, at a bullet then left my mom to raise all ten of us by herself. if not for some cousins of mine who are all die hard ford fanatics, i wouldn't even know how to change a tire. i'd love to come by and check the stang out when i can. i am an amatuer photographer and would like to snap a few pics maybe. i've missed two days of work already and can't be back at work tilmonday so this next paycheck is going to suck, so i'll be pulling lots of doubles when i get back to work next week. for the next two days i'm going to lay back and be absolutely worthless.
