Hey guys sorry ive been gone so long ..Well anyway i bought a front Hpipe for stock 351 C 4v Manifold and after going under car i noticed theres noway to fit this front pipe with the Equilizer bar .So now im wondering do i scrape the manifolds and go with headers? Ive looked around a couple websites and nobody sems to make headers for a 351 C with 4 speed..Yes its a 1969 mustang with a 351 C but 70 Mustangs should be same right? Any ideas or anyone with a 1960 1970 cleavland 4 speed with and answers? Id appreciate it

I'm not sure why they wouldn't fit. As far as I know, 4spds aren't that wide.

Get some headers, they're worth it. Check for 70 351C mustang headers.

Hooker makes some. they list it as 67-70 mustang 351C with 4 speed
#HOO6913 or ceramic coated #6913-1 about $195.00.
This listing is in the PAW "Performance Automotive Warehouse catalog.

Check with summit or jegs and get some headers... they have free shipping.

Yes, I am 99% sure 72 manifolds are different than 70.
You might even have Torino manifolds.

I have the clutch and trany out right now, sorry. The equalizer bar cleared ok except when fully released it would ride against one of the header tubes. I think it could be fixed through adjustment or slight tweaking of the equalizer bar arm. I will be going to a hydraulic clutch set up when it goes back together.

I was running a 351C with an FMX with Hedman Hedders. When I swapped to a 4 speed I installed manifolds off of a 71 Mach 1. The clutch Z bar was from a '69 with a 351W. I had to modify the Z bar and the link to the release arm, but it did fit. I am now in a full restoration and am going back with Hedders. When trial fitting, the Hedmans interfere with the release arm (through the bellhousing). I have purchased and trial fitted the parts to install a hydraulic clutch with a hydraulic throwout/release bearing. That will work--the problem is the hydraulic release bearing is pricey, but this is offset by the lower cost of Hedman Hedders compared to the Hooker Super Comps.

I am now looking at 5 speeds and 6 speeds, so this could all change. Anyone have experience with the 6-speed swap?
