Well guys I am back again...I thought I was back a few months back, but change of jobs and other things changed that...

Well now that it is warm ( or should I say hot ) I am going to try to start working on the fastback again...

My first order of business in hopefully next weekend....

I am ordering a holley 80457s, and I have a Ford Power Parts C90x aluminum intake...

which brings me to my question...

It was painted long ago and much of the paint is gone...

What is the best way to remove the remaining paint?

media blasting?

some sort of chemical?

Wire wheel?

What are your recommendations?

Thanks

I think blasting it would be the easiest and also do the best job.

Well yeah it would be easisest, but it would probably pit it, especially since its Aluminum. Wire wheel is old fashioned, but it gets the job done.

Take it to your local N.A.P.A. and see if they can hot tank aluminum; that would clean it inside and out. If not, blast it. I use a bench top blaster with mild media that won't even pit brass.
