Went to 1/8 mi. strip today.
15* timing 40-42# fuel pressure.
Only went 9.00 @77.5
My old bolt-on stocker was faster. 8.75 @ 77.6

What's going on?? Tmoss said headers seemed big but It's got tons of tourqe, on the street it seems MUCH faster but 9.00's?? Granted my shifter was hanging up on me and I missed some shifts but on the 3 9.00's (all almost identical) I hit 2 & 3rd pretty good, not powershift fast, but smooth.60 ft's still 1.8-1.9. I just had tranny rebuild and my 5.0 powertower shifter does'nt feel as good as it use too? The guy who rebuilt tranny is best around here so i doubt it's in his work but I'm going to ask him about it.
HELP!!!!!
My buddy beat me in his 2000 GT w/ only 3.73's and pullies

Have you had it on the dyno?

Have you had it dynoed? There could be a number of different things wrong, but I agree, it should be much quicker.

My heavy '94 GT ran 8.99 @79 mph with a 2.0 60ft time with just exhaust, pulleys and 4.10 gear with 18 inch Cobra R's. I ran a 8.90 @ 78 mph and a 1.9 60ft time with the same mods and a F-cam. I ran a 8.89 at 80 mph with a 2.1 60ft time with the above mods and GT40 intake and a rocker arm coming off. I haven't run my car since I've put the heads on because I'm not sure about my tune, but I would think with your mods that it would be faster also. I don't know whats wrong but your mph seems low to me for the mods.

This is my time slip with a basically stock motor for the
1/4 mile. I have stock heads. My suspension is upgraded.
With the AFR heads I think you should be running faster.
It was heads up racing with a .40 pro tree.

What are you running for tires? Street, drag radials, slicks? Your 60' times look good.

3.73's in rear, never been dynoed don't know of anywhere that can dyno and tune there is a dyno fairly near by but I think you can only make runs on it, no tuning?
Tires are McCreary 265/60/15, they hook great but are a little tall 27.5".(00 traction rating, dirt track tires, a lot of guys around here use them)
The more I think about the runs I made the more I'm thinking I've got somthing wrong in the shifter and was unable to row through them like I should??
We'll see, if I get another chance to go this year.

I ran a 8.7 @ 80mph with a 1.90 60' with the mods in my sig. Car also went 13.8 @ 99 mph at another track 1/4 mile. Has the potential for a 13.7 though, just antifreeze on the track blew that run.

Even if your ET is the same, or slower... your MPH should be much higher. There is something wrong with it... valve adjustment, vac leak, bad misalignment of the intake/head ports just to name a few.

Ok, I still haven't had a change to do a full compression check, working all week, but I hooked my Vac guage up and at idle I'm only reading 14" , it should be around 20" right?
It' acts right when I blip the throttle and when I hold it at 2000 rpm's for 20 secs. or so and close throttle it holds at 3-4" higher for a few seconds as it should .
I've been told this low a reading is probably late valve timing, does this mean the cam is off??!!??!!
Or could it be a tight valve, will a compression check tell me if it is a tight valve? I'm guessing that cylinder will have a exessivly low reading?
Will it matter if I do it with a cold engine or must it be up to temp?

Thanks
Wes

I agree with this, theres a bunch of things that could be making the car run bad and slowing it down. You dont notice your car is that slow with those mods? Id say the 60' is nice, but man all those mods and only a 9.0? im surprised you dont notice how slow it is on the street.
