I have never changed drum brakes before.

I have one side completely taken apart and the other side is left untouched.

When I was taking the one side apart, this piece dropped out and for the life of me I can't figure out where it goes. Any help identifying it would be appreciated.
I looked and looked and I can't see it on the other side which is left untouched....

Please tell me where it goes and what if any particular name it has.

More information....that's probably relevant. The rearend is from a 76 Granada.

I am including a pic with the mystery part circled.

If I remember correctly it should go on the end of the Emergency brake equalizer bar. Not sure of the correct name of the part though. Here's a link its the parking brake link it should go on the right side at the end of the spring.
