well ive heard that it obviously improves performance by enhancing alot of different computer controlled aspects of the car. which would lean more towards performance than the stock mustang chip. but like i said, im not to clear on the whole thing so i need someone to fill me in...

you could do a mail order, generic year/model tune, a custom tune,or a custom dyno tune( which I recommended)

you really don't need a tune at this point. you don't have many performance mods. about the only thing a chip will do for you now is bump up the timing.

Since you have an '03 model get a flash tuner rather than a chip.

chips are good for people who dont want to fiddle with a hand held tuner, a custom tune is just that, weather chip or handheld, and most dealers will make minor adjustments on the chip at no charge after getting a custom tune, Probably the hand helds too.

Dealers will make adjustments to custom tunes they developed usually at no additional charge. One advantage of a hand held tuner is the user does not have to physically remove a chip to update their tune. They will also datalog (very useful in custom tuning) and read/erase trouble code.
