I'm going to assume this is an automatic.

Confirm if the torque converter is old or new.

What the automatic transmission oil system thoroughly flushed out? If not, it's quite possible for contamination to still be in the old oil. This will be pulled into the new transmission leading to a short service life.

Finally the 4R70W is an electronically controlled transmission. Therefore there's a possibility of an external control being responsible.

My suspicion is that the fluid system is contaminated and this is at the root of the problem.

Fluid and filter changes are a hell of a lot more important than people think.

Did you put a new converter in or keep the old one?
