the torxs bit broke off inside the screw on the 5.0 ho plate has anyone else encountered this, any suggestions on how to solve of fix this. I was planning on drilling it out or slotting the torx screw with a dremel so I could use a flat head, any thoughts? Thanks
well actually, yeah, i would try the dremel thing. and use some penetrant oil. and would secondly do the drill thing. its not like you'll hit an intake runner or anything if you do that. its just pretty much dead space under that plate.
just curious, what do you plan on doing? my buddy painted his the body color of his car and then put it on the belt sander so only the background was painted and the raised 5.0 looked like milled aluminum. prett dang cool i thought for a zero dollar mod.
I was just trying to swap in a tmoss lower but i got held up. I think I might just go tom. morning to a local mechanic guy I know and ask him if he can take off the plate for me. Then finish it tom night when my friend can come buy and help.
I had the same problem when taking mine off. I actully just broke the HO plate all together. It didnt really matter to me I am swapping it for a Cobra intake.
I finally got it out and now have the lower intake fuelrails and injectors off. Taking a break for dinner and now im getting ready to tackle the lower.
