I have all the stuff set up outside to change my oil, and i'm looking under the car but I don't see a drain plug, am I blind? Can someone please help me before I pack it in sell the stang and buy a geo ...... I don't think I deserve such a car
Go under the car behind the right front tire, there is a black screw at an angle near the center of the car, I didn't even need to jack it up, but at first I couldn't see the plug because at a different angle it is blocked from sight, I just got a mirror and a light at first to find it, but once you know where it is ya know!

Just pay the dealer (Lube place or whatever) the 30 bucks to have it done ... and *documented*. Why risk warranty problems to save $20 every 5000 miles?!

I wasn't trying to give saltfli (or anyone else) a hard time, but why risk someone possibly giving you trouble if/when warranty repairs are required? Many dealers (insurance companies, etc) are real jerks and are always trying to weasel their way out of doing warranty (i.e. free) work. Not always, but a lot of shady people try to find some way to avoid doing free work.
There must be *some* place in your area which you can trust to change the oil properly and use quality parts (changing the oil & filter aren't that complicated, even for a teenager). I'm sure you can get someone to use the oil and filter you want.
Plus, you get some documentation that proves you had it done "professionally" and at the correct interval. How does a Pepboy's receipt prove you changed the oil on *this* car, or that you did it correctly, or that it was done at 5000 miles (or whatever). The date on the receipt doesn't show the car's mileage.
It just seems like an awfully big risk to take to save $20. As for the oil & filter selection, they are supposed to use Ford approved materials (and document it), otherwise they are liable. Either way, YOU have proof that you did what you were supposed to (and when you were supposed to).
I'm not trying to bust your balls (or ovaries, for the lady members). I'm only trying to protect you guys from possible grief down the road.
#1 I wouldn't let any quick lube places even look at my car. I've read far too many threads where they caused a problem that negates all the precious time you saved by having a hassle free warrantee by hoarding your receipts.
#2 No way no how the dealership can bust you for not providing the receipts of a professional oil change. The burdon of proof is on them (if you force it, some people just bend over), if they want to deny coverage because they think the oil is suspect, they can test it.
In this day and age, warntee issues from internal engine problems are very rare. Nobody needs a valve job or bearings at 20,000 miles. Its all the sensors and electronic crap that goes bad on an engine in the first 36,000 miles. I always change oil myself. Crawling under the car every few months gives you a perspective on maintenence, I've found a lot of fluid leaks to get fixed for free over the years.
