Help with Emissions Question

I realize this is a mustang forum, hence why I joined. However, I have recently acquired an SVT Focus in Competition Orange with the EAP. I am thrilled with it, but I have a question that may be similar on the Cobras.

I purchased my SVT from Cali a few weeks back. Growing up my impression was that all cars from California had stricter emissions standards, which leads me to my question.

What, if any, is the equipment that is on my car that makes it differ from other SVT Focus' or is it just software in the puter? I know with modern cars much can be done via a tune, so I am hoping this is it. For point of reference, I live in the east side of Oregon state where I dont have to pass smog tests to register my vehicle so thats not a concern.

Awesome! Thanks for the reply! I am going to get a "toms tune" which should eliminate any and all horrible programming. If anyone is up for a new DD I would surely suggest an SVT foci.. these things are a blast
