Hey ya'll! I saw a mustang that had the "mustang" signature (that is kinda 3-d) painted on the inside of the car (passenger side airbag area) a different color than the the rest of the dash which made it stand out nicely. Do any of you know an easy way to go about doing this, or any suggestions?

Thanks a bunch

Jessica

For the pony in the wheel, I know you can buy "stickers" that work nicely and really make the pony stand out. They're the same type of thing that you use for the letters on the back of the car (mustang or mustang GT or cobra...whatever it is)

A friend of mine does alot of work with vinal and she custom cut some for me for both my horse and writing. Its been holding up well so far and it looks pretty good. And it can be taken off if it ever needs to be. Its in silver to match the outside of my car and I think its been on there for a couple years now.

To Epikk3

I saw some of the pics of your car--nice. Black makes for a nice stang! Do you got flowmasters or bullets or anything to up the sound? I'm looking at upgrading from the flowmasters I have

you could just get some touch out paint in the color of your choice. And if you have a steady hand paint them. Just make sure you clean them really good first.

The pony on the steering wheel and the Mustang lettering on the passenger side airbag is what I want to paint.

For painting soft vinyl, you should look to Duplicolor, and for the passenger side airbag, where it is a hard vinyl, use Krylon. Both of these are vinyl DYES, and that's what you should be using.

I too was thinking about doing the "Mustang" on the pass. side, but I've no way to perfectly seal off the lettering just by using masking tape. I tried a small inconspicuous spot on some hard plastic by using some caulk to see if that would work, but all it does is peel the factory color right off the vinyl.

Read the tech section's "Painitng Your Interior," and then I would think about maybe experimenting with a few different techniques that don't require spray cans.

See if you can find a vinyl dye that is in can medium and not a spray can. Hope you have a steady hand. If not, ask a sign painter, or a real pinstriping guy (painter) to do it after you get the vinyl dye.

I remembered this weekend that my brother did the "mustang" letting on his mustang (on the inside passenger side). It turned out really nice--I'll check with him how he did it and let ya know if you're interested
